Educator

 

In addition to performing and creating, Troy is also an educator. While in high school, Troy was the vocal captain and company manager for the musical theatre ensemble SPLASH, a composer, arranger, and section leader in the Etobicoke School of the Arts Chamber Choir and a teaching assistant for the incoming grade nine vocal and drama/dance classes. Outside of school, Troy was the musical director of Camp Wahanowin’s ensemble for the Pass the Music On charity event (winners 2015, 2017). He is a graduate of the Concurrent B.Mus/B.Ed program at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University and is certified as a classroom music teacher. Recently, he has been a guest lecturer at ESA and the vocal director of the Arts Undergraduate Theatre Society’s January 2020 production of Head Over Heels.

In the fall of 2019, Troy opened his private vocal studio Troy Lebane Studios, where he teaches students of all ages. Troy also joined the faculty at Spotlight Academy in Toronto, where he acts as an in-class instructor, private vocal coach, and director of summer programming.
